Periodontal disease, or gum disease, is usually a direct result of poor dental hygiene. If left unattended plaque will create up in the mouth and around the gums by the bacteria that releases toxins leading to periodontal disease. If the disease is allowed to go untreated it could eventually damage your gums and jawbone. Other complications with poor breath can be a result of sinus infections or stomach problems. With sinus infections, post nasal drip can cause halitosis issues, whilst upset stomachs can trigger some odor troubles when you burp.
