Jaw Bone Infection

            The jaw bone infection is normal cause of having bacteria which is the staphylococcus aureus that is in the jaw bone. And it enters the jawbone if you have periodontal disease, if your jawbone is expose while you have a dental procedure, if your jaw bone is injured or if you are taking some drugs for cancer or osteoporosis. This jaw bone infection is also known as the osteomyelitis and osteonecrosis. The osteomyelitis is having an infection in the bone and according to the National Library of Medicine the symptoms of this is bone pain, swelling, fever, redness, nausea, warmth and having a discomfort feeling. Sometimes a person who has this doesn't experience pain or even swelling and this case means that the jaw bone infection is difficult to diagnose. If a person has this periodontal disease it means that around the tooth including the gums are being infected. And sometimes it is being untreated where it will enter the jaw bone that causes the jaw bone infection. The best way to prevent this is to brush and floss your teeth every day, have a dental checkup regularly and avoid smoking. If the person is having a dental procedure then the bacteria is entered the jaw bone it also cause the jaw bone infection. It is usual happen in some dental clinics who haven't observed cleanliness in their surgical procedures like having a root canal, wisdom teeth removal and tooth extraction. There are some medications that may put you in a risk condition, like for example if you are taking some medication for your cancer or for the osteoporosis you have to tell your dentist that you're taking this meds before you have some dental procedure. According to the American Dental Association that this problem is rare but a very serious one that may cause a severe loss or maybe destruction of your jawbone.

            How this problem can be diagnosed? Your dentist is going to x-ray, CT scan or take some blood to sample if you have this kind of jaw bone infection. And they will present it in a lab to see if you are confirmed having a bacteria in your jaw bone. The treatment of this problem usually is take some antibiotic and it only be taken four up to six weeks from the day you feel this infection. This jaw bone is being characterized in a poor flowing of the blood compare to the other bones of your body. If you notice that the antibiotic you take is not effective the dentist will remove the infected jaw bone and replace it by attaching other bone of the body.

            Jaw bone infection is a hard problem for you so as the Dental Association advice to you is to take good care of your teeth. Brush it and floss it regularly at least three times a day, have some dental checkup and avoid smoking which is not only bad to your health but also can give you a jaw bone infection.
